Here at EASTERN COLOR, we work very hard to thoroughly check your job before we output any film. However, the ultimate responsibility for making sure your job is correct is yours. If there are mistakes in your file they may generate delays and / or extra charges. Please check your work very carefully. The following list contains some of the main reasons for delays and/or addition charges.

1."FONTS" Failure to include all fonts with your disk. Though at Eastern Color we maintain a large library of fonts, there are over 20,000 different fonts and we canıt possibly have them all. Even if we have a font with the same name as the ones you use, itıs possible that they were designed by different companies, and are not identical. Any differences can cause type to reflow, lines to get cut off, hyphenation to change, etc. Use Adobe Postscript 1 fonts, be sure to include both the screen and printer fonts. Refrain from using True Type whenever possible. Using Bold or Italic Characters - When using Adobe Type 1 fonts, rather than using the bold and italic tools in your page layout program, please use the bold and/ or italic version of the typeface available in your font selection box. Simply select a font from the font menu. Not style options or buttons as they may result in incorrect output.

2. "PRINTING B&W PROOFS" - Provide composite and separated proofs with your file. Printing separations ensures that all elements are separating on the correct plate. Output laser copy of all plates to verify accurate color break. The proofs should be from the revision of the file you are sending. Differences in the file we receive and an out-of-date proof lead to confusion and delays. Without a current proof ,we donıt know if a type reflow is the result of a last minute edit, or a difference between our defaults settings and yours. When no proof is provided, we cannot determine if what we are about to output is correct or not. 3. "COLOR" Change all colors to either process or spot depending on your output requirements. Graphics provided in RGB will frequently not print as desired. Be sure to convert all 4/c graphics to CMYK. Define all color names the same, in both your graphics and page layout programs. Output laser copies to verify accurate color break. 4. "Missing Scans and Image Files" Send all (Tiffs and EPS ) used in your document. For Quark use "Collect for output", for other apps check the links to make sure you include files with the proper names. And don't forget those embedded art files.
